Dedication Ceremony
Nearly every resident of Broward County gathered for the official dedication ceremony for Port Everglades on February 22, 1928.
The 1930s
Port Everglades welcomed its first official cruise line and petroleum company in the 1930s.
The 1940s
Port Everglades has a long history of supporting the U.S. military, including serving as a U.S. Navy base during World War II.
The 1950s
During the boom era of the 1950s, Port Everglades saw incredible growth.
The 1960s
Cunard Cruise Line’s first Queen Elizabeth docked at Berth 26-27 in January 1969. During the 1960s, land that would become Southport was purchased.
