BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. - Port Everglades made a splash on March 11 when the South Florida seaport released its new Port Everglades Powerhouse Cruise Port video at Cruise Shipping Miami (CSM).
The video incorporates the Port’s “splash” theme with animated water droplets and cresting waves that introduce different segments of the clever 3-minute video. Each segment highlights the big advantages of cruising from Port Everglades – location, speed, service and flexibility with the backdrop of Greater Fort Lauderdale as a vibrant, sunny vacation destination.
The video is an integral part of the Port’s new booth at CSM, which also features the splash design in the form of a dramatic water-based cruise ship rising out of the seas. New technology uses revolutionary remote control aerial camera captures sweeping images of the Port’s cruise terminals, parking garages and other facilities, while time-lapse and aerial footage capture the expanse of the 2,100-acre seaport and its modern, nine cruise terminals.
The video communicates the value of the Port to the local economy, particularly with future renovation and expansion plans announced last year. In the Spring, Port Everglades will begin a $24 million construction project to modernize, reconfigure and expand Cruise Terminal 4. The improved Terminal 4 will be ready to welcome cruise guests for the 2015 season. The total value of economic activity at Port Everglades is approximately $26 billion. And, more than 201,000 Florida jobs are impacted by the Port, including 11,700 people who work for companies that provide direct services to Port Everglades.
