Port Everglades Identification Badge Application

Pursuant to local, state and federal law, all persons entering Port Everglades are subject to established security restrictions. To obtain a Port Everglades Identification Badge, please complete and follow the directions on the Business Purpose Application. Terms and conditions of access to Port Everglades are governed by Chapter 42, Part I of the Broward County Administrative Code.


Business Permit Applications

  • A Port Everglades Business Permit is required for crane service, motor vehicle rental service, or mobile motorized food/drink service.  This process may take up to 30 days to complete.
  • See Broward County Administrative Code, Chapter 32, Part III.
  • All applicants must be registered with the State of Florida.
  • All applications will be reviewed by Port staff.
  • Business permits are issued on a calendar year basis and expire December 31. Fees are not prorated.
  • Parking privileges are not included with a business permit.
  • For additional information on business permit applications for crane service,  motor vehicle rental service, or mobile motorized food/drink service call 954-468-0112.
  • All  taxi, limosine and bus services must obtain a Port Everglades Business Permit from Broward County Permitting, Licensing, and Consumer Protection Division located at 1 North University Drive, Box #302 in Plantation, FL 33324. Phone 954-765-4400 ext 9376.

  • Up-to-date certificates for commercial general liability and automobile insurance
  • Current list of owned/leased cranes and equipment that will be used at Port Everglades
  • Current quadrennial unit proof test certificate (each crane)
  • Annual inspection certification (each crane)
  • Applicant's most recent financial information
  • Resume(s) of applicant's principal operating officers
  • Copy of applicant's safety, training and substance abuse programs

$200 non-refundable processing fee

$250 annual fee

$15 per crane vehicle tag fee

Mobile Motorized Food/Drink Service

  • Current food inspection certificate issued by the applicable regulatory agency
  • Up-to-date certificates for commercial general liability and automobile insurance
  • Current list of owned/leased vehicles that will be used at Port Everglades, including VIN and license plate numbers. Limit two vehicles
  • Applicant's most recent financial information
  • Resume(s) of applicant's principal operating officer(s)
  • Copy of applicant's safety, training and substance abuse programs

Motor Vehicle Rental Service

Motor vehicle rental companies must submit monthly reports and fees and an annual report before March 31 each year. Refer to Port Everglades Tariff Item 800.

$3.95 per contract for passengers picked up at Port Everglades

Franchise Applications

  • Terms and conditions of access to Port Everglades for franchisees are governed by Chapter 32, Part II of the Broward County Administrative Code.
  • A Port Everglades Franchise is required to perform the services of Steamship Agent, Stevedore, Cargo Handler, Tug Boat and Towing, Vessel Bunkering, Vessel Oily Waste Removal, Vessel Sanitary Waste Water Removal, or Marine Terminal Security.
  • For information on franchise applications, please contact Angela Osorno-Belleme at aosornobelleme@broward.org or 954-468-0112.
  • All applicants must be registered with the State of Florida.
  • All applications will be reviewed by Port staff and if satisfactory a public hearing will be scheduled for consideration by Broward County Board of County Commissioners.
  • Initial franchises are usually issued for a one-year term. Renewals may for any period up to the maximum term as set forth in Chapter 32 of the Broward County Administrative Code.
  • Prior to the end of each franchise year, franchisees are asked to submit updated information and annual fees as set forth in the Port Everglades Tariff.
