Film Guide

From industrial scenes to glamorous cruise shots, location scouts know Port Everglades makes an intriguing backdrop for movies, commercials, fashion pages and other commercial film ventures. We work closely with our partners at Film Lauderdale to ensure your blockbuster is a hit.

Guidelines for Commercial Filming at Port Everglades:

Step 1: Contact Film Lauderdale, a Broward County agency, for information on film permits, policies and procedures: 954-357-8878, film@filmlauderdale.org. Film Lauderdale will contact the Port Everglades External Affairs and Marketing office. Requests for site scouting tours can be arranged at this time.

Step 2: Requests will then be forwarded to the appropriate port agencies as well as local, state and federal partner agencies for review and to address any concerns, issues or restrictions, and to determine any costs involved with the production.

Step 3: After applications and request have been reviewed and approved, all cast and crew will need temporary visitor ID badges that must be visible at all times while on port property. To obtain badges, the port requires the following information to enable the Broward Sheriff's Office to conduct security checks in advance:

  • Full name
  • Birth date
  • Driver's license number or passport number
  • State or country issued

This information needs to be provided at least three full working days in advance.

These are basic guidelines for commercial filming at Port Everglades. For more information, please contact Port Everglades External Affairs and Marketing at 954-468-3527 or email porteverglades@broward.org.
