The Broward County Economic and Small Business Development Division's Small Business Section promotes the growth of small, minority and women-owned firms by providing innovative programs at a high level of service excellence. The goal is to create programs that make a difference by fostering economic growth among small, minority and women-owned businesses, while allowing the County to get the greatest value possible in economic as well as social terms.

In an effort to spur economic development and stimulate small business growth, projects costing less than $250,000 are identified as sheltered market/reserved contracts for certified small businesses. Through this new race and gender neutral program, all certified small business enterprise (SBE) firms will receive first consideration for contracts under $250,000. The goal is to increase the number of small businesses acting as prime contractors or consultants for the County. For more information or to become a certified SBE, contact:
